You can check your order status in your Silencer Shop dashboard under My Orders. This will show what step your order is on in the process and if any information is missing at any time.
☐ Create Accounts
Create a Silencer Shop account and an ATF eForms account.
IMPORTANT: Your full legal full name and email address must match exactly on both accounts.
Ensure you record your username, password, and PIN for your ATF eForms account as these will be required during the certification process.
Alternatively, you can set up your account at a Silencer Shop kiosk if visiting a dealer in person.
☐ Purchase Your Suppressor
Buy your suppressor and select your preferred dealer before checkout.
You can select your Dealer using our Dealer Finder.
☐ Complete Registration
Fill out your registration information — this includes all registration questions and your personal details. You can do this directly on Silencer Shop in your Registration Information to get a head start before getting your fingerprints done.
Silencer Shop will automatically generate the ATF Form 4 for you after the checkout process, simplifying the filing requirements.
☐ Upload a Photo
Upload a passport-style photo to your account (valid for 1 year).
This step cannot be completed at the kiosk and must be done through the Silencer Shop mobile app or online under your Registration Information.
☐ Upload your Fingerprints
Submit your fingerprints via a Silencer Shop Kiosk, mail in physical fingerprint cards or send us your EFT file to [email protected].
Trustees using a Traditional Trust must submit their fingerprints individually using their own Silencer Shop accounts.
Use a kiosk code at a Powered By Silencer Shop dealer to streamline your fingerprint submission process.
☐ Select a Registration Type — Choose Individual, Trust, or Corporation
Upload any required supporting documents (e.g., trust documents or corporate paperwork).
If you’d like to register as a trust and don’t already have one, you can easily purchase a trust directly through our website by searching trust.
Trustees using a Traditional Trust must complete all initial setup steps, including submitting fingerprints and photos, and signing the Form 4.
For added flexibility, Silencer Shop offers Single Shot Trusts as an alternative registration option.
Documents for Single Shot Trusts will be sent toward the end of the process, after certification.
☐ Review & Signature Request
Silencer Shop will review your information and send your electronic signature request via email — complete all required signatures promptly.
Certification appointments typically take about 15 minutes and are completed simultaneously with your dealer.
☐ Form 3 Transfer (If Applicable)
Silencer Shop will handle the Form 3 transfer of your suppressor to your selected dealer.
If your dealer assigned you the silencer and already has the suppressor in stock at their store then this step does not apply.
☐ ATF Submission
Once everything is reviewed and signed, your dealer will work directly with you to complete the ATF submission once the suppressor has arrived to their location. Please give your dealer time to prepare for the submission.
You’ll get a notification when it’s time to proceed. Your dealer may contact you to start your submission.
During certification, you will need to enter your ATF eForms username and PIN to complete the process. Do not share your credentials with anyone.
The dealer will also certify the transfer process with the ATF upon completion of the required steps.
☐ Wait for ATF Approval
After submission, the ATF reviews and approves your Form 4.
Both you and your dealer will receive an email notification once approved.
You will receive an "In Process" notification from ATF eForms once your submission is underway.
☐ Pick Up Your Suppressor
Once approved you and your dealer will receive the email notification, visit your selected dealer to complete the pickup and enjoy your new suppressor!
We recommend calling to make sure they are ready for you to pickup your Item.
Third-Party Seller Transfers
If you purchased a suppressor from a third-party seller, work with your selected dealer to arrange the transfer to their location.
Silencer Shop can assist with the remaining steps, including NFA registration and serial number association with your product.
