You can either purchase your NFA item first or fill out your Registration Information first — both workflows work.
Keep in mind:
Your NFA item will require a tax stamp and may require an NFA Gun Trust or Single Shot Trust, depending on your chosen registration type.
Starting January 1st 2026, tax stamps for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs will be free, and no additional payment for the tax stamp will be required at checkout.
We recommend purchasing first, because completing the purchase enables our automated notifications and order workflow. Those notifications help guide you and your dealer through the next steps as your order moves toward submission and approval.
You can always complete or update your registration details anytime from your Silencer Shop Dashboard — with the exception of your fingerprints, which must be completed at a Silencer Shop Kiosk or by mailing in fingerprint cards.
