Refund Policies and Procedures for Suppressor Orders at Silencer Shop
Silencer Shop offers refunds for suppressor orders under specific conditions. This article outlines the key policies, eligibility criteria, fees, and timelines to help you understand the refund process.
Refund Eligibility Criteria
Refund eligibility depends on the status of your suppressor order:
Before Shipping: A full refund is available if the suppressor has not yet shipped to your dealer. Cancellation must occur before the Form 4 transfer process begins.
After Shipping: Refunds are possible but subject to a restocking fee (typically 25% or 35%). The suppressor must be returned unused and in its original packaging.
After Dealer Transfer: Refunds require the dealer to return the suppressor to Silencer Shop via an ATF Form 3. A restocking fee applies, and the suppressor must be in resellable condition.
Restocking Fees and Conditions
Restocking fees are applied to cover processing and handling costs:
35% Fee: Applies to most suppressor returns after shipping.
25% Fee: Applies in specific cases, such as when the dealer cannot submit ATF eForms due to system issues.
Refunds are only issued for suppressors that are unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging.
Tax Stamp Refunds
Tax stamp refunds are available under the following conditions:
Before Serial Number Assignment: If you cancel your order before a serial number is assigned and the suppressor is shipped, you can receive a full refund for the tax stamp.
Disapproved Applications: If your ATF Form 4 application is disapproved, the tax stamp refund will be processed along with the suppressor refund.
Refund Processing Timelines
Refunds are typically processed within the following timeframes:
Internal Processing: Refund requests are processed within 24–48 hours.
Bank Processing: Funds generally appear in your account within 3–10 business days, depending on your bank’s policies.
Dealer Involvement in Refunds
Dealers play a crucial role in the refund process:
Returning the Suppressor: Dealers must return the suppressor to Silencer Shop via an ATF Form 3.
Providing Documentation: Dealers should include the approved Form 3 and any necessary paperwork, such as the ATF disapproval notice.
Special Cases and Exceptions
Backordered Items: Full refunds are available if you no longer wish to wait for a backordered item.
Firearm Trust Orders: Refunds are not available for completed, signed, and notarized firearm trust orders.
